RECAST: Reduced Assessment Time

Objective:
Providing the technique to complete wind resource assessment in complex terrain in only 3 months. In the RECAST technique, multipoint measurement systems (WindScanner systems) provide the input to micro-scale CFD simulations. As the accuracy of the speed factors will be increased and the requirement on the accuracy of the long term correction is reduced and the duration of the measurements can be decreased.

Expected outcome:

  • Algorithm for combining of multi-point measurements in micro-scale model
  • Method for long-term correction of multi-point measurements
  • Mature and Robust WindScanner system (Increased Technology Readiness level)
  • New and faster technique for WRA in complex terrain

The project began February 2018 and will run for 3 years.

Total project budget: 11.39 mio. DKK.
