Measuring mast

Each site is equipped with a measurement mast, which is adapted to the individual prototype both in height and instrumentation. The measurement mast provides information about wind speed, direction, temperature, etc. Measurements are taken at several heights on the mast.

  • Wind speed is typically measured with a cup anemometer and indicated in m/s.
  • Wind direction is measured with a wind vane and indicated in compass direction from which the wind is coming.
  • Temperature is measured with a thermometer and indicated in degrees Celsius.
  • Humidity is measured with a hygrometer and indicated in percent RH.
  • Air pressure is measured with a barometer and indicated in millibars.
