2001 – 2002 Establishment of test station Høvsøre

Test Centre Høvsøre is located at Bøvlingbjerg in Lemvig Municipality. Test Centre Høvsøre, Denmark's first national test center for wind turbines, was established in 2002. The test centre contributes to Denmark maintaining its leading position in wind turbine technology.

At Test Centre Høvsøre, there are sites for testing tall wind turbines, where international companies, together with DTU Wind and Energy Systems, can test their new prototype wind turbines. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is responsible for the establishment and operation of the test centre.

The test centre offers the best facilities for research, development, and testing of new wind turbine prototypes, i.e., wind turbines that have not yet been put into production. Access to modern testing facilities close to the manufacturers' development departments in Denmark is considered a crucial prerequisite for increasing the industry's international competitiveness. This is of great importance for maintaining investments and jobs in the wind turbine industry in Denmark.
