Masterclass: Introduction to Wind Turbine Blade Testing

Wind turbine blades are among the most structurally demanding components in modern engineering. Every blade must be tested to prove it can withstand decades of extreme loads, fatigue cycles, and environmental conditions. But what does that testing actually involve, and which international standards govern it?
In this free masterclass, two DTU researchers will walk you through the fundamentals of wind turbine blade testing: from the purpose and scope of international certification standards, through static, fatigue, and full-scale test types, to test design, simulation, and the equipment used in real testing campaigns. - 30-40 minute presentation of the masterclass by Kim Branner and Sina Samareh
