Professor Lena Kitzing has accepted expanded responsibilities at another leading European University and will therefore step out of her role as Head of Division for Wind Energy Systems (WES) at the Department of Wind and Energy Systems, effective 1 October 2026. Lena will continue her affiliation with the department as a professor.
Even before becoming Head of Division, Lena played a central role in shaping and strengthening the Wind Energy Systems Division and has contributed significantly to the department's development and strategic direction.
"Lena has made a remarkable contribution not only to DTU Wind and Energy Systems, but also to DTU more broadly through her leadership, scientific excellence, and engagement in the energy transition. I am grateful for her contribution and wish her every success in this exciting new chapter. At the same time, we are delighted that she will continue to be part of our department as professor, and we look forward to following her future endeavors both within and outside DTU", says Morten Jeppesen, Head of Department.
While the department will miss Lena, her ongoing connection to DTU Wind will create opportunities for ongoing collaboration and knowledge exchange between DTU and the broader international energy policy community.
