A Life of Wind: Celebrating Paul’s Legacy
To mark this important occasion, DTU Wind hosted the seminar “A Life of Wind” at the Niels Bohr Auditorium, Risø Campus, on 1 May. The event brought together colleagues, collaborators, and students to celebrate Paul’s remarkable career and his enduring influence on wind energy research.
Introduced by Morten Jeppesen, Head of Department, and Associate Professor Jenni Rinker, Paul delivered two keynote presentations. The first traced the arc of his professional journey, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Christian Bak with reflections from Peter Hauge Madsen, former Head of Department, and Sandy Butterfield, President of Boulder Wind Consulting.
In the second session, Paul turned his attention to the future, outlining the Grand Challenges in Wind Energy. The discussion that followed featured Professors Xiaoli Larsén, Nicolaos A. Cutululis, and Lena Kitzing from DTU Wind, along with Daniel Laird, Director of NREL. Together, they explored the scientific, technical, and policy innovations needed to support the global energy transition.
