Fabio Pierella has been course responsible for the bachelor course “46000 Introduction to Wind Energy” since 2022. During the three years, he has continuously earned an excellent course evaluation. The bachelor course is an important recruitment path to the master-level courses at the Department of Wind and Energy Systems and Fabio Pierella is contributing to this by delivering excellent teaching for almost 100 bachelor students every year.
In the latest course evaluation (spring 2024), it was clear that the students appreciated Fabio’s teaching, his style, and large engagement. In addition, the students enhanced his way of explaining difficult topics and offering a different way of explaining, if needed. Fabio is also delivering excellent teaching at MSc level in e.g. the offshore wind energy course (46211) as well as contributing to the wind energy master. Besides from teaching, Fabio has taken on the responsibility of serving as the pedagogical coordinator for the Department in collaboration with Associate Professor Jenni Rinker.
Two quotes from students of the bachelor course exemplifies the evaluations:
I really like Fabio’s way of teaching. He comes across very friendly, motivated and he is really good at explaining things a second time in a more intuitive way if needed.
Fabio is probably the nicest lecturer I have had so far. He is always very interested in how we are doing and good at giving some extra help if needed. He is always friendly and smiling. His lectures are very well structured. It’s great that he does a lot of drawings and sketches while giving the lecture.
Fabio received the prize at the DTU Wind and Energy Systems Faculty Day at Hotel Comwell Friday 25th October.
Congratulations Fabio!
