2024: From seven to five turbines

On February 1, 2024, the Danish Parliament passed a new law allowing for fewer but taller wind turbines at the Høvsøre Test Center. The number of wind turbines at the test center is thus reduced from seven to five. In return, the maximum tip height of the turbines is increased from 200 m to 275 m.

Test Center Høvsøre has five test positions with the following specifications:

  • Maximum output: 8 MW (planned expansion to 16 MW)
  • Voltage level: 33 kV
  • Maximum tip height: 275 m (250 m for position 1)
  • Maximum rotor size: 237.5 m
