Denmark's first national test center for wind turbines
Test Centre Høvsøre is Denmark's first national test center for wind turbines, established in 2002 at Bøvlingbjerg in Lemvig Municipality. The test centre contributes to Denmark maintaining its leading position in wind turbine technology. At the test centre, international companies, together with DTU Wind and Energy Systems, can test their new wind turbine prototypes.
The test centre offers the best facilities for research, development, and testing of new wind turbine prototypes, i.e., wind turbines that have not yet been put into production. The test centre is regulated by the law on test centres for large wind turbines at Høvsøre and Østerild (the test centre law).
The test stands are rented out to wind turbine manufacturers who wish to develop and test their prototype wind turbines.
