Over the past weeks, DTU Wind has hosted visitors from across the globe:
DTU Wind welcomed a delegation from Indonesia's state-owned electricity company, PLN to DTU Risø Campus. The visit was arranged in cooperation with The Danish Energy Agency’s Center for Global Cooperation and focused on Danish research in wind energy and power system integration, including a demonstration of the Risø Hybrid Power Plant. The discussions explored how renewable energy can be integrated into both island and mainland power systems and provided a platform for strategic dialogue on the green transition.
A delegation of U.S. senators and representatives from National Caucus of Environmental Legislators (NCEL) visited the National Test Centre for Large Wind Turbines in Østerild. The visit offered first-hand insight into one of the world's leading facilities for testing and demonstrating next-generation wind turbine technology. Østerild plays a crucial role in accelerating innovation by providing industry and researchers access to full-scale testing under real-world conditions.
DTU Wind also had the pleasure of receiving the French Ambassador to Denmark David Bertolotti to the Risø Hybrid Power Plant. The visit showcased how the department is advancing research into integrated energy systems, combining renewable energy technologies to support a resilient and flexible energy future.
These visits reflect the department’s position as an international research partner and meeting place for stakeholders from around the world. From policymakers and diplomats to researchers and industry leaders, global partners continue to engage with DTU Wind to explore solutions to some of the most pressing energy challenges of our time.
Our research infrastructure, including Østerild and the Risø Hybrid Power Plant, provides a unique platform for collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing. By bringing together expertise from across borders and disciplines, DTU Wind contributes to driving the green transition both in Denmark and internationally.
