Work experience programme for primary school pupils

Are you a primary school pupil (8th-10th grade) and interested in wind power and energy systems - and are you willing to challenge yourself? Would you also like to work as a researcher for a week? If so, you can participate in a work experience programme at DTU Wind and Energy Systems, as we welcome students from primary school every year.

Her kan du finde information på dansk om muligheden for praktik.

When can you do a work experience program?

DTU Wind accepts up to 6 students from 8th to 10th grade, and it takes place in week 2. Unfortunately, we cannot offer individual programs at other times of the year. We hope that, in collaboration with your class teacher, you can fit it into the school year.

Who is in charge?

At our department, PhD students oversee the internship and ensure that you learn about sustainable energy, receive assignments, and, in other ways, experience working as a researcher for a week. Our PhD students are often international, so you can expect to use your English here as an additional bonus.

Meeting time and duration

During the week at the department, you should consider it as a regular job and arrive at 9:00 in the morning and leave at approximately 4:00 in the afternoon.

Programme

Throughout the week, you will visit various facilities at the department, where you will meet skilled researchers who will tell you about their research, show you their experimental setups, and/or guide you through some exciting exercises that you can perform yourself. We create a new work experience program for each group.

Report on the work experience

During the week, you will be given some tasks and, at the end, write a brief report about your experiences and what you have gained from being a part of DTU Wind's work for a week.

Your work experience will take place at DTU Wind, Frederiksborgvej 399, 4000 Roskilde.
