IEA Wind TCP Secretariat

Objective:
The International Energy Agency (IEA) was formed in 1974 as an autonomous body within the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The IEA works to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for both its member countries and nations around the world.

Since its founding in 1977, the IEA Wind TCP has developed and deployed wind energy technology through vigorous national programs and co-operative international efforts. Participants exchange the latest information on their current and future activities and participate in selected IEA Wind TCP research tasks.

The IEA Wind TCP currently have 22 member countries and 3 sponsor members. These member countries and associated organizations form a global network of researchers and policy experts focused on sharing the latest technology research and best practices to overcome specific barriers for wind energy deployment.

The IEA Wind TCP Secretariat consists of a small team from DTU and is responsible for communications between the members of the ExCo and between the ExCo and Operating Agents, and supporting the ongoing development of the Wind TCP. In addition, the secretariat undertakes a variety of tasks within the IEA Wind TCP, such as producing the IEA Wind Annual Report, which covers national wind energy activities and collaborative R&D projects; arranging meetings within the ExCo and Leadership Team; and leading external communication efforts of the TCP.

In the very visible role of Secretariat to the IEA Wind TCP, DTU has the opportunity to strengthen its ties to the international wind energy community and develop new relations with organisations in the associated countries.
