Hiperwind

HIPERWIND: HIghly advanced Probabilistic design and Enhanced Reliability methods for high-value, cost-efficient offshore wind.
The HIPERWIND project aims at achieving a 9% reduction in the Levelized Cost of Energy of offshore wind farms, through advancements in basic wind energy science which will lead to reductions in risk and uncertainty. The outcome is cost-efficient offshore wind through a reduction in unnecessary use of materials, less unscheduled maintenance, and optimized operating strategy tailored at delivering power with high market value.
One of the major contributions of HIPERWIND is the quantification of uncertainties in the wind turbine design model chain, which, together with research on novel reliability assessment methods, results in a practical approach for design under uncertainty.

The HIPERWIND consortium consists of seven European partners. The project began on December 1st, 2020, and runs for 3.5 years.

Total project budget: 4.0 mio. EUR (= approx. 29.8 mio. DKK).

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101006689.
