Objective:
RELIABLADE develops and demonstrates techniques to create a unique Digital Twin for each individual wind turbine blade with their unique defects and imperfections. The Digital Twin tracks the current state and predicts the future state of the blade as damages initiate and grow through its entire life cycle. This will be fulfilled by using high-precision scanning, Non Destructive Testing (NDT) tools, advanced image processing techniques and multiscale modelling of blades.
The project also develops and demonstrates techniques to update the Digital Twin based on different sensor and measurement solutions such that the Digital Twin tracks the current state and predicts the future state of the blade as damages initiate and grow. These techniques are developed for subcomponents (part of blades) with known defects and controlled loading, and are finally demonstrated for full-scale blades under realistic loading simulating the entire life cycle of the blades.
The project began on October 1 2018 and runs for four years.
Total project budget: 82.83 mio. DKK.
