Accelerating the green transition largely relies on massive deployment of offshore wind energy. For this to happen it is necessary to continue reducing the costs and, more importantly, diminishing the environmental impact of offshore wind energy to achieve the required levels of deployment.
The main drivers of the Levelized Cost of Energy are the energy production and the cost of electrical systems. Yet, the paradigm today is to design them separately, leading to overly costly results.
The project aims to bridge that gap, developing the models and methods necessary for integrated and simultaneous optimization of energy production and electrical systems. The project employs advanced optimization approaches and leverages the power of artificial intelligence methods for surrogate modelling resulting in an advantageous change in design paradigm.
The project began on 01.01.2022 and will run for three years until 30.06.2025.
Total project budget: 6.1 mio. DKK.
